Dromilites bucklandii is a very rare crab, with a more domed and smooth carapace than Basinotopus lamarki. It is present throughout the London clay, From Division B1 through to Division E but only in very small numbers. The second member of the Dromilites family D. bellii (see link to revision paper above)has been recorded from Division D on Sheppey. I own one very immature specimen encased in a pyritic nodule and I know of one other. More generally associated with Division B1/B2 where it is much more frequent |
